Data Security

Servers storing restaurant data are not directly connected to the Internet, but may be accessed by network connections matching specific profiles in firewall and/or proxy equipment. There are separate profiles for administrative access and for general web access by Internet-at-large. All network packets are inspected before being allowed to pass on to the servers.

Data Redundancy

Once approved data is staged on the master server, it is duplicated to all machines in the cluster so that no cluster member need depend on the health of another server to continue serving data. In addition, data is backed up to tape every 24 hours.
